Why Tier 1 EV tools
Answer the biggest EV buying question before shoppers reach a dealer
Shoppers considering an EV or plug-in hybrid want to know three things: what it will cost to run compared with gas, how far it goes, and how charging fits their routine. A Tier 1 EV experience answers all three with interactive tools built around each shopper’s own driving, location and fuel prices.
Gas prices are one of the strongest predictors of EV adoption. When fuel costs move, a savings calculator makes the value of electrified ownership tangible, timely and personal: shoppers change their daily driving or gas price and watch their savings update on dynamic charts.
The result is a high-intent destination on your own site that serves education, conversion and organic discovery at once. It builds purchase confidence and strengthens SEO and GEO visibility (how often search engines and AI assistants surface your brand) around one of the most important EV buying questions.
For OEM digital, marketing and Tier 1 campaign teams

Savings over a one-to-six-year ownership period, plus a 10-year cumulative fuel cost chart with editable electricity rates and gas prices.
Compare against any gas car
Compare against average fuel economy for six vehicle classes, from compact cars to full-size trucks, or search more than 20,000 real gas models.
EV range maps
How far each model goes on a single charge from the shopper’s own address, one-way or round trip, with nearby public chargers on the same map.
Charging calculators
Level 1, Level 2 and fast charging times for the shopper’s daily drive, plus plug types, voltage and home installation requirements.
Distance per dollar
How far $5, $10, $20 or $50 of energy takes the EV compared with a similar gas vehicle.
Inside a Tier 1 EV experience
An entry module on your homepage or model pages links shoppers to the full experience. Our recent Tier 1 build combined 10 custom tools covering savings, range, charging, route planning and fuel cost, all designed in the automaker’s brand.
Savings: the number that moves shoppers
Shoppers pick a model and trim, set their daily driving and state, and see estimated monthly, yearly and five-year fuel savings against a comparable gas vehicle.
Electricity and gas prices for the shopper’s state, regular or premium
Ownership periods from one to six years
A 10-year cumulative fuel cost chart with editable rates
Monthly gas price notes that keep the page timely
Range: real trips from a real address
An interactive map shows how far each model travels on a single charge from the shopper’s address, one-way or round trip.
Nearby public chargers on the same map
Plain-language education on what affects range, such as temperature and highway speed
Charging: what it takes, day to day
Shoppers set their daily distance and charging method to see how long it takes to recharge a typical day of driving and to reach a full charge.
Level 1, Level 2 and fast charging compared
Battery used by a typical day of driving
Plug types, voltage and home installation requirements
Home and off-peak charging tips
Built for EVs and plug-in hybrids
Every Tier 1 experience can cover plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) as well as fully electric models, so a lineup that includes PHEVs is represented from day one. Shoppers compare EVs and PHEVs against a comparable gas vehicle with the same savings tools, charts and charging education.

Accuracy and transparency
Every number is defensible and up to date
All savings calculations and the data behind each tool come exclusively from public and governmental sources, including the U.S. Department of Energy, the EPA and utility rate databases, so every number a shopper sees can be traced to its source.
Vehicle efficiency comes from EPA ratings. Electricity costs use national averages or EIA residential data for the shopper’s state, and gas prices reflect the current month’s state averages.
Assumptions sit next to the numbers they affect: cumulative charts assume constant energy prices, and real-world range varies with weather, speed, terrain and vehicle configuration.

Tier 1 OEM case study · 2026
A bespoke Electrified Configurator, live on an OEM homepage in under a quarter
The challenge: a global automaker preparing its EV lineup for a national push needed shoppers to understand electrified ownership before they ever reached a dealer: how far each model goes, how and where it charges, and what it really costs to run compared with gas.
What we built: working with the OEM’s digital and Tier 1 marketing teams, Lectrium designed and built a bespoke Electrified Configurator and EV savings calculator for the brand’s full EV lineup. An entry module lived on the OEM’s homepage and linked to a full experience with 10 custom tools covering range, charging, route planning and fuel cost, all in the OEM’s brand.
How it’s used: the configurator educates consumers at scale alongside Tier 1 campaigns for EV and hybrid launches, and gives the brand a ready-made way to create demand during periods of high gas prices.
