What are the trims and key features of the Kia EV9?

The four Kia EV9 Trims include:

  • Light, Wind, Land, and GT-Line
  • Light: The basic model has a shorter range, so Kia also is releasing a Light ‘Long Range’ version. It mostly has the same features but adds six seats, HomeLink, and some extras like a sunroof, a heated steering wheel, and a heat pump.
  • Wind: The Kia EV9 Wind trim has a different look outside, a big glass roof, and silver roof rails. Inside, it has an impressive seven seats and a heated steering wheel, along with the previously mentioned features.
  • Land: The EV9 Land is more luxurious. It has "Small Cube" LED lights, a light-up grille, and bigger 20-inch wheels. It also has mirrors that dim automatically, black shiny details, quieter back windows, and an outside outlet.
  • GT-Line: The GT-Line is the top trim of the line-up. It has an adjusting rear suspension, 21-inch two-tone wheels, unique front and back looks, dark metal details, and shiny black roof rails.

In 2025, the car manufacturer also hopes to add the sporty EV9 GT trim to the lineup.

Wheels configuration:

  • Base trims will get 19-inch wheels as standard (with a 20-inch option), while upper trims will have 20-inch wheels. The GT-Line will boast 21-inch wheels.

Some additional features:

  • AWD versions will offer a towing capacity of up to 5,000 lbs, and the vehicle has a ground clearance of up to 7.8 inches.

What is the battery, performance, and range of the Kia EV9?

The Kia EV9 will have two battery pack options (Kia's fourth-generation battery, 800V):

  • 76.1 kWh
  • 99.8 kWh

The Kia EV9 engine configurations include:

  • RWD with 76.1 kWh battery: Producing 160 kW (Equivalent to 215 hp)
  • RWD with 99.8 kWh battery: Delivering 150 kW (Equivalent to 201 hp)
  • AWD with 99.8 kWh battery: Offering 283 kW (A robust 379 hp) and torque reaching 516 lb.-ft

The Kia EV9 equipped with the 99.8-kWh battery in its RWD configuration will boast a potential range of up to 300 miles, as per manufacturer estimates. Its efficient coefficient of drag at 0.28 will also augment its performance. Dual-motor versions promise a swift 0-60 mph in under five seconds, with pre-production testing hitting a remarkable 4.5 seconds.
